I am both a logical person and a creative person. With design I very rarely find these two parts of me in conflict. Design is like music it has both a mathematic component and an artistic one. To compose a perfect piece of design you need that balance to be an intrisic part of your work.

DTP PRINT DESIGN The world of paper desgn and computer design
After University (2/3years of a BScEng) and the obligatory two year stint in i CommOps the SADF running the NE TVL Command Media Centre. I then satiated my passion for design by attending a three year design diploma course at Technicon Witwatersr. After which I found work in the print industry at the largest privately owned print and DTP company in SA (KlemLloyd Lithographers & Hull Publishing) first in repro and then in DTP and design and then client account management, all the while continuing to do graphic design for my select clients in Johannesberg.

THE CHEESE FACTORY Branding, product design and product placement
I moved to Cape Town drawn by an opportunity to manage an Italian cheese factory. Between my normal management duties I succesfully branded our products and won shelf space at all the major retailers. I experienced the production process, running a factory full of staff and spent time in the retail industry.

LIFE STYLE PORTALS Web design, web development and online marketing
At this time I was attracted to the world wide web. I took a deep dive into the world of web development when I launched an online media company. Classic Media created a series of online portals ranging from xtreme sport (RiotX.com) and night clubbing to supplying Web Design and Management Services to the entertainment industry. Dockside, was the largest night club in the Southern Hemisphere in the early 2000s. I always wear many hats but had to come to grips very quickly with the world of servers and coding. Always finding time for my passion design!

The natural progression from website building to online systems architecture. Solving process problems by leveraging vanguard technology and repurposed classic design knowledge lead me into the field of online business solutions. Also founding the KEPT project and launching DiG has brought me full circle back to design and SIMON.africa

Please note that I like to treat each new client as a totally different project as each client has differing needs and process scenarios. This means that I will quote each client differently for the monthly service retainers. But these prices bellow are a guide to my hourly rates for differing services.
